Match Preview: ROUNDS vs AMO

ROUNDS’ journey in the ESEA Main playoffs for Season 56 begins tonight versus Amo.

ROUNDS CS2 have already found themselves in the second round of the playoffs after finishing the regular season with a whopping 12 wins and only 2 losses and are set to face Russian team “Amo” for their first upper bracket challenge.

A lot is at stake as only two more wins would secure a spot back in ESEA Advanced for the subsequent season number 57. Make that three and it’s a confirmed place in the Season Finals on top. The full playoff bracket can be found here.

Tonight’s opponent is no joke either. Amo finished the regular season with 9 wins and 5 losses to their name and beat a substitute-filled “2-3years dagoestan” with a score of 2-1 in their first playoff round to secure the berth versus ROUNDS. Notably the Russian squad faced two Finnish sides beforehand this season, picking up incredibly close wins against both ENCE Academy (13-11), as well as Team Juvi (16-13), whom ROUNDS also managed to beat earlier in an overtime thriller.

With their dominant regular season performance, ROUNDS are undoubtedly the favourites in this matchup, especially in a best of three, but simply can’t let it slip when it matters most. Entering a lower bracket run this early into the playoffs would be a huge mental hit on the current momentum the team is riding on.
