Match Report: ROUNDS complete incredible comeback in game of the season contender

ROUNDS were down 2-9 on Nuke after already having lost Dust2, but clawed back to 19-17 and an eventual full series win.

Incredible scenes as ROUNDS find themselves currently in the Top 4 of ESEA Main and basically locked in for an ESEA Advanced spot next season, though the games will still continue and the team is not looking to let the flow down.

Dust2 was last night’s opponent Enjoy1’s pick and clearly comfortable for them as they took it quite convincingly, a 13-7 scoreline in the end.

Heading into Nuke the situation was looking quite dire for ROUNDS, because we never got our T-side running whatsoever. 2-9 was the worst it got to but a final round snatched meant a 3-9 deficit heading into the side switch. At this point it was obviously easy to write off our chances of clawing it back, given the dominant performance Enjoy1 had on the map prior too. Some individual heroics on the CT half gave life to the ROUNDS squad though, including an epic 1v2 at 11-12 from Jelo to drag us to overtime. After not one, but two overtimes, ROUNDS incredibly came out on top, 19-17. Absolute standout performances from both Kollo and Jelo especially.

A back-and-forth third map of Ancient eventually flipped in our favour as well, as we took it 13-10. It was not a comfortable win by any means, and we really had to work for it once again. The entire series could be a called a well fought victory.
