ROUNDS This Week 43/2026 – We made it to Elisa Open!

LanTrek came and went, we announced major-finalist coach Twista, and clutched up in the Elisa Open Suomi 14 qualifiers.

Hey all. As you can see this edition of ROUNDS This Week is rather late. It’s due to the very busy LanTrek schedule we had, as mentioned earlier on Twitter/X and Instagram Stories. But we’re back! I’m going to keep this concise since next week’s edition is only a couple of days away. Let’s get started!

Last Week’s Recap

On Tuesday the 13th, ROUNDS CS2 beat Vitality Academy in the European Pro League – Regular Season 7 playoffs 2-1.
ROUNDS Future also played in NUKE-Liiga on that day, defeating Inceptor Horizon 13-8 to go 5W-0L in the standings.

On Friday the 16th, our main team played in the Elisa BreakOut Series #2 VRS event at the LanTrek 2026 LAN party & gaming convention in our hometown Tampere. Unfortunately on the day, we lost to HAVU 1-13, to Phantom 6-13, and to Voca 9-13. This meant that we exited the event as 7th-8th, with an 0-3 scoreline in the groups and did not advance to the playoffs on Saturday. It was our first LAN experience under Twista‘s management and after adding Tumppis into the lineup.

Simultaneously, running from Thursday the 15th until Saturday the 17th, ROUNDS Future participated in the LanTrek BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer) CS2 tournament and finished in 3rd-4th place. The finalists were the two big favourites, Peliä Ry and Amphis Gaming, with Peliä eventually taking home the biggest cash prize.

We also fielded a Rocket League squad consisting of Finnish national team teammates Renshiro, Dansku, and Tossis, and placed 2nd in the LanTrek Rocket League Pro tournament running from Friday the 16th to Saturday the 17th. We fell in the final to FNSi‘s star-studded majority-Hungarian roster “Manager IT – Profit League” 0-4.

On Saturday the 17th, ROUNDS CS2 unfortunately lost to EA Copenhagen Extra 1-2 to exit the European Pro League – Regular Season 7 playoffs and also end their road trip to Tampere, as we played this match all together at the accomodation.

This week, we played in all three Elisa Open Suomi 14 open qualifiers from Monday to Wednesday, falling short in the first two. On Monday the 19th we lost to KuusamoGG in the deciding Bo3, and on Tuesday the 20th we dropped a Bo1 against “Koira123“. But in the end we made it through to season number 14! Overcoming “team_yaNgile” 2-0 on Wednesday the 21st, we punched our ticket back where we belong yet again.

Additionally in the midst of all that ruckus, we also managed to beat the Copenhagen Wolves in the Fiesta Series 3: Closed Qualifier 2-0 on Tuesday the 20th, right after losing to “Wingman” 1-2 a day prior. That puts us 1-1 in the group at the time of writing.

The Week(end) Ahead

This time the week ahead is more like the weekend ahead, but that doesn’t make this segment any shorter. We’ve got a couple matches lined up for you guys. Our ESEA season was also supposed to start this week, but the first match on Thursday got rescheduled for later on in the month, and Donstu Esports gave us a forfeit victory from the Friday game. We sit at 2W-0L in the table before playing a single match, since New Vision did the same a bit earlier too. Let’s check back on ESEA Advanced Season 59 next week then!

Fri 23:
CS2 – Fiesta Series 3: Closed Qualifier: ROUNDS vs Revise @ 14:00 EEST → WATCH HERE

Sat 24:
CS2 – European Pro League Series 10 Play-In: ROUNDS vs Megoshort @ 13:30 EEST → WATCH HERE
(the stream is not confirmed, but is speculated to be the same as the last EPL event)

Our social media channels will update accordingly. I recommend following our Twitter/X and/or Instagram Stories! The Discord events tab is also a decent little matchday calendar for the near future. All the links can be found at the very bottom of this page.

Content Calendar

We are planning to release three vlogs from our LanTrek trip. One dedicated entirely to our main CS2 team’s journey in the Elisa BreakOut Series #2, with Twista at the helm and our first impressions with Tumppis in real life, another for ROUNDS Future as they fought their way through the LanTrek BYOC bracket and gained valuable LAN experience, and a third one covering the main day at LanTrek overall (that one’ll have glimpses of Rocket League action too!). Subscribe to our YouTube channel to not miss out on any of these!

Quick Hits

Welcome Slaava “Twista” Räsänen

ROUNDS CS2 is fully complete with a head coach as the most legendary coach in Finnish CS puts on the green jersey! We’ll publish more content centered around this great pickup in the near future, but this introduction video was already quite a banger to begin with. Stay tuned for a full interview!

Thank you for an amazing LanTrek 2026

Thank you all who participated in LanTrek one way or another, whether it was cheering for our teams that attended, visiting our collab booth with Santa Maria and Nuvoo, or simply just following it all online. It was great catching up with all of you and we’re hoping to run this all again soon, at other events, but hopefully again in Tampere too! It was so good to be back. 💚

ROUNDS are headed to Elisa Open Suomi 14

ROUNDS were the last CS2 team to qualify to the 14th season of Elisa Open Suomi. This prestigious event is a cornerstone of Finnish Counter-Strike and what makes it unique is that the only way to get in are the three open qualifiers that are held beforehand. The other teams that made it in to battle for the 5000€ prize pool are HAVU, SINQU, Prestige, KuusamoGG, Nordic Valor, Boyband, and BOJONG. The attendants all must have a majority-Finnish core, and the season starts on the 2nd of November. Check out more information from the Liquipedia page.

Mention of the Week

This week I’ll keep the mention simple, but important. Thank you for reading ROUNDS This Week! According to Google Site Kit, the last edition was read (or at least opened…) by 37 unique users, which is quite a lot for just starting out! It’s great to see that such a format still has a time and place in today’s wild west called social media, where a big part of the articles you see are AI-written. But clearly you readers believe that us humans rule sometimes too! Thank you so much.

Please feel free to leave feedback on this new weekly update format in our Discord or on Twitter/X @finkkaree. We’re gonna improve it each week moving forward and mould it to be the best for you. Thanks to all our contributors so far!

See you on social media, and let’s cheer the boys on in the final games of the weekend. Until next week!
