First season back in ESEA Advanced deemed a success

ROUNDS CS2 is back in ESEA Advanced, and have already made the playoffs too. Now we’re here for the aftermath.

ROUNDS‘ Counter-Strike 2 team competed in ESEA’s Advanced division once again in Season 57, after having played in Main, the division below, for a while beforehand. We all felt this is where we deserved to be, where we belong, and the squad showed it on the server too. Making it to the playoffs was the number one goal with each match further from there being a great feat. It’s safe to say this past ESEA season was a success.

We finished the regular season with a record of 9 wins and 5 losses, starting the season off with three defeats on the bounce. After that we found our momentum and produced a victorious spell of all our nine wins in a row, only to faulter just twice more after we had already punched in our ticket to the playoffs. Even from our five regular season losses, three were on overtime, with the opening match of the season having been a 46-round thriller against eternal premium.

In our four best-of-three matches in the playoffs we produced 2 wins and 2 losses. First we fell to XI Esport 1-2, to then go down to the lower bracket where we picked up 2-0 wins against tincan and ENRAGE. Our season ended in a 0-2 defeat to OLDBOYS PL. We managed to record one HLTV win in the game against ENRAGE.

To be out of Advanced for some time and come back to immediately making playoffs again is no straightforward task, and should be celebrated. We have once again cemented our place at the top of the ESEA ladder by making sure we stay in it for two consecutive seasons.
