CONFIRMED: ROUNDS to face Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev’s BC.Game on VRS LAN stage

ROUNDS will face BC.Game in the first round of the €15,000 Elisa Esports BreakOut Series at Assembly Summer 2026.

Widely regarded as the greatest player of the Global Offensive era of Counter-Strike, Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev has travelled to Helsinki, Finland with his team BC.Game Esports to face off against the most notable Finnish CS organizations. The €15,000 prize pool LAN event, known as the Elisa Esports BreakOut Series, takes place at the Messukeskus Helsinki, Expo and Convention Centre in Pasila, intertwined with the Assembly Summer 2026 gaming and demoscene convention. Here’s everything you need to know.

“What the hell is a polar bear doing in Arlington, Texas?”

Let’s start off with the elephant in the room. In other words, why is a team of such caliber as BC.Game even attending a Finnish LAN event consisting otherwise entirely of the local mainstay? The ones who closely follow Counter-Strike esports in 2026 may already guess the answer. Valve’s switch to the Valve Regional Standings (VRS) points system has forced teams to take an alternate route in Major qualification, as RMR events and other straight-up qualifiers no longer exist. Instead, nowadays it’s up to the organizations themselves to first attend VRS events, and then gain enough points in them, to make it to the pinnacle of CS esports.

BC.Game Esports very recently went through a roster overhaul, benching their Portuguese VRS core of aragornN, MUTiRiS, and krazy. Because of this, they lost their place in Valve’s standings, and must start paving their way back from the ground up, which includes attending all the VRS events they could possibly muster up, including a no-nonsense work trip to Finland in this instance.

You can read more about the attending teams and event structure from HLTV.org.

What interesting storylines are at play? Why is this match significant?

There are a lot of reasons to be excited for this Friday. Not only is it a major milestone for us as an organization for it to be even possible for us to attend such an event, but it’s also the very first game in which we see the new-look BC.Game in action. Their match history as of recent has included a run of events with the German international ScrunK, as well as the last remaining piece of their Portuguese trio, krazy.

The Elisa Esports BreakOut Series will be the first event in which they will field their two new signings of four-time Major champion and Major MVP Emil “Magisk” Reif and 19-year-old Mongolian prodigy Ayush “mzinho” Batbold. Alongside s1mple, Denis “electroNic” Sharipov and Azbayar “Senzu” Munkhbold remain in the starting lineup. So, counting their coach Wiktor “TaZ” Wojtas, it’s actually a total of seven Major championships between them that we’ll face on that stage!

From our side of the story, there’s still fables to be told. Looking at the wider picture toward the BC.Game match and beyond, this is our first LAN event with Jami “Lapa” Hellqvist in the green and black! During his first month with us, he’s posted up a 1.04 average rating on HLTV, including being a standout alongside Elmeri “ykis” Lind against megoshort in the CCT qualifiers.

You’ve got me intrigued. How do I watch?

It’s simple! (Pun not intended.) Just purchase tickets to the Assembly Summer 2026 event and join us for a great time in the audience. Okay, and of course there are free home couch options too. Check the HLTV match page for constantly updating details, but the best place to get your streams in from are the official Elisa Esports channels, such as their Twitch.

ROUNDS vs BC.Game takes place on Friday the 31st of July 2026. The starting time of 13:00 EEST (local time) is approximate and will depend on the previous match, as it is a LAN event, all played on the same stage.

Let’s see those #LOADTHEROUNDS in chat for this historical moment! 💚
