ESEA Advanced Season 59 is scheduled to finally start for us this week, and ROUNDS Future headline a clash of the titans.

A busy week for Counter-Strike here at ROUNDS, as our youngsters of Future return from a week-long break, and our main team finally gets to hit the server in the current ESEA season, naturally gunning towards the playoffs once again. Let’s find out how you can follow along this time around.

Last Week(end)’s Recap

Two games over the weekend returned as two losses, but opportunities to learn from them. Fiesta Series 3 is over for us, but EPL continues alongside ESEA now starting back up.

Fri 23:
CS2 – Fiesta Series 3: Closed Qualifier: ROUNDS 0-2 Revise

Sat 24:
CS2 – European Pro League Series 10 Play-In: ROUNDS 0-2 Megoshort

The Week Ahead

At the time of writing this article we are unaware of how the bankruptcy of ENCE is going to affect NUKE-Liiga, or ENCE Prospects. However as it stands, we are supposed to play them tomorrow in a fierce battle for the top spot in the regular season standings. For the main team, EPL Series 10 continues on Wednesday after our opening defeat, and ESEA begins.

NOTICE: ESEA match times can sometimes be very wacky due to the possibility of rescheduling. These times mentioned here for them are provisional, and I suggest keeping an eye on our social media and Discord, which are linked down below, for updates. The official FACEIT page also will stay up-to-date.

Content Calendar

We are planning to release three vlogs from our LanTrek trip. One dedicated entirely to our main CS2 team’s journey in the Elisa BreakOut Series #2, with Twista at the helm and our first impressions with Tumppis in real life, another for ROUNDS Future as they fought their way through the LanTrek BYOC bracket and gained valuable LAN experience, and a third one covering the main day at LanTrek overall (that one’ll have glimpses of Rocket League action too!). Subscribe to our YouTube channel to not miss out on any of these!

Quick Hits

Thank you, ENCE.

We would like to take a moment to thank ENCE for everything they have done for Finnish esports as they have informed the public earlier today that they have filed for bankruptcy. We took to our socials to remember our dear competitor:

“ENCE’s success in Katowice was a big reason why I personally got into CS2 and esports. ENCE and the people of ENCE have been positive about us from the beginning and we have been in regular contact. I have nothing but good things to say about ENCE, and the news was a shock even though I know it’s hard for everyone in this industry. I wish everyone at ENCE strength, and I believe that we haven’t seen everything yet. Thank you ENCE!”

Mention of the Week

Rest in peace, Lauri “Cyanide” Happonen. Today Finnish publication Ilta-Sanomat broke out the news that the first and only Finnish League of Legends world champion had sadly passed away earlier this year at just age 31. This topic is something we didn’t want to cover on our socials because we felt it could be seen as insensitive and attention-chasing, considering Lauri didn’t have much of any connection to ROUNDS as an organization. However, I see the Mention of the Week as more of a short personal field where I, as the editor-in-chief, get to show off a tiny bit of my personality and personal thoughts. I found that it’s the best way to pay homage to a legend while making sure we respect his memory fully. Even before joining ROUNDS, Cyanide was a big inspiration to me and one of the people I looked up to in esports, still is. He’s been a big part of what I’ve strived to help build here at ROUNDS, and so while we never really crossed on the server, I wanted to dedicate this Mention of the Week for his legacy. Many of us here at ROUNDS are touched by the tragic news today. Rest well, champ.

Please feel free to leave feedback on this new weekly update format in our Discord or on Twitter/X @finkkaree. We’re gonna improve it each week moving forward and mould it to be the best for you. Thanks to all our contributors so far!

See you all in Twitch chat this week, and let’s hold the Finnish flag high during these difficult times.
